- Every APS student attended at least one live production at our theater, the Croswell Opera House or the Adrian Symphony.
- Elementary students took field trips to the Ford River Rouge Plant and others to the Chelsea Jiffy Plant to learn first hand about manufacturing and industry.
- All sixth graders had an over-night camping experience.
- Some kindergarten students are learning Spanish and some elementary students are writing and performing their own production and learning to play the piano.
- The AHS Debate Team and Law Team have purchased materials to prepare for ongoing contests throughout the year.
- Many of the libraries and classrooms have new books for students to read.
- Students and teachers are using some of the best teaching technology including document cameras and digital writing pads to increase student interaction in the classroom.
With the tenuous state of funding for education, our Foundation becomes more important than ever. ASEF grants, with funding by donors like you, are the one thing that keeps giving our students opportunities that bring the basics to life. It's impossible to begin to tell you how many times we hear comments from our students that they have never been out of the Adrian area, or stayed overnight away from family, or ever heard a live orchestra, or seen a live production on stage, or held a new book in their hands. Your dollars make possible these visits and so many other once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our students.
This appeal is the basis for our grant awards. We also hold various events throughout the year to expand our giving capacity. Any and all support you provide is so much appreciated! Your gifts make for a truly joyful expression from students and teachers when the Prize Patrol enters the classroom and awards our grants each year.
You are making a difference and, we know, one day these students will be “giving back” to others as they have been given to.
