Maples in the Military Project

As part of their Advanced Leadership Class, Hannah Engle, Krysta Bowerman and Rebecca Munger are coordinating the “Maples in the Military” Project. The project began last school year and blossomed over the summer. Steve Willnow, parent and community volunteer helped coordinate construction of the military tribute showcase with Milan Prison staff. Prisoners who needed to fulfill volunteer hours worked to complete the beautiful display which will be used to honor former AHS students who have served or are currently serving in the military. Mr. Willnow expects to be able to deliver the completed showcase to Adrian High School by October 26^th. Anyone interested in making a donation to help defray the cost for materials can send them to Ms. Rita Kinnell at the address below.

The Maples in the Military tribute showcase is going to be placed in the gym lobby for proud display. The showcase will be formally dedicated at an upcoming home basketball game.

Pictures of Adrian graduates that have been or are still serving in the military are being accepted for the display. Pictures should be wallet size (approx. 3.5” x 2.5”) and submissions should include full name, graduation year, branch and location of service. Please include your name and contact number in case there are any questions.
