K-12 Commitment
APS is committed to offering visual art experiences from elementary and beyond. All
students have the chance to create and explore in dedicated art rooms in all buildings. Artwork is displayed in the classroom, throughout the schools and in the new APS Art Gallery which is part of the AHS Theater and Lobby area. Students K-12 are invited to display in community galleries and have the chance to compete in regional and state shows, through the Visual Arts Educators of Lenawee County (VAELC) and the Michigan Art Educators Association (MAEA).At the high school level, students can choose from painting, sculpture, photography, videography as well as computer graphic design classes to name a few. Students can also be a part of the lighting, set design and make up crews for the various plays and musicals held in the APS stage during the year.
