Dear Parents,
Adrian Middle School 7-8 offers a challenging and comprehensive curriculum and a wide array of co-curricular opportunities aimed at meeting the needs of the entire spectrum of learners. At Adrian Middle School 7-8 there is something for everyone.
In the fall of 2011, our already sound curriculum will be augmented by the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Middle Year Programme. This student centered and holistic program is aimed at enhancing student engagement and student success. The International Baccalaureate Programme will involve all students and will add to the unique opportunities already available to students at the 7-8 building.
In addition to strong programs in the core academic areas, a wide array of opportunities are offered to students in the arts. Students may choose from offerings in the visual arts, choir, band or orchestra. Adrian Middle School 7-8 also offers excellent opportunities for students to participate in performing arts. In the 2010-2011 school year, the middle school students performed in Beauty and the Beast. New to the middle school this school year will be opportunities in foreign language.
Adrian Middle School 7-8 also offers a wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities including the Equations Team, National Junior Honors Society, and a wide range of intramural and interscholastic athletic opportunities.
Adrian Middle School 7-8 offers many options for additional student support and learning. Through collaboration with Communities in Schools we are able to offer Sylvan Tutoring and other services.
Every day at Adrian Middle School 7-8 is an opportunity for students to grow and challenge themselves. We are dedicated to providing opportunities through which students can gain authentic self esteem in a safe, yet challenging and rigorous learning environment. Through this challenging and rigorous learning environment, we hope to provide opportunities for students to realize their fullest potential. Through these challenges and a student centered approach to instruction, students will develop the academic skills and character traits necessary to become successful students at the high school level; as well as balanced, principled citizens as they pursue their goals and dreams.
