ABOUT ME

Many of you may already know who I am as I have been a teacher with the APS system for17 years.  I started my teaching experience at Prairie where I was initially hired with grant money to help at risk students in the areas of mathmatics and reading.  I was in that position for 1 year.  From there I was hired by Mr. Mowrey to work at Lincoln Elementary as a kindergarten teacher.  I was there for 6 wonderful years.  Following my 6 years at Lincoln, I was hired by Mr. Gramling to move toGarfield Elementary where I taught 5th grade for 3 years.  It was at the conclusion of my 3rd year with Garfield Elementary,  that APS went through a substantial reconfiguration.  Middle schools were drastically changed as they now included 5th grade students.  Mrs. Bacus asked if I would like to move to the new middle school configuration, which I happily did.  For 7 years I worked under the leadership of Mr. Schwartz and taught 6th grade science and language arts.  Which brings me up to date, and the news of me teaching at the 7/8 building under Mr. Parker!

Whew, I'm getting old!

Generally, I'm pretty easy going with the children, however I do command respect from the children.  Behavioral problems will be addressed immediately as I do not tolerate any actions that will interfere with the learning environment!

PLEASE CONTACT ME AT ANY TIME, I HAVE AN OPEN DOOR POLICY WITHIN MY CLASSROOM, WHICH MEANS MY DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN~  517-902-6250 OR abahlau@adrian.k12.mi.us~
