I grew up in Clinton Township, MI and graduated from Chippewa Valley High School. I went on to earn my bachelor's degree in English with Secondary Certification for grades six-twelve. I completed my year-long student teaching internship in Utica, MI where I taught 7th and 8th grade English and an Exploring Literacy class. During the 2008/2009 school year I taught English, Creative Writing, and Literature classes in Romulus for their Adult Education Program. I also taught part-time at Romulus Middle School as a re-teacher for 7th grade English. During the 2009/2010 school year, I taught 8th grade English at Davidson Middle School in Southgate.
This is my second year with Adrian Public Schools. Last year, I taught 8th grade English at the 7/8 building and I am excited to be joining the staff here at the 5/6 building!
In my spare time I love hanging out with my husband and our families. We do not have children yet but we do have two, funny cats named Lily & Lola. We both come from very big families and we have tons of little cousins that keep us busy. We also have a new niece named Molly, who will be 2 in February and we just welcomed our new nephew R.J. We absolutely adore them and we love being an aunt and uncle! We also love bike riding, traveling, spending time with friends and family, Michigan Football and of course the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers!
I absolutely LOVE anything and everything related to English and I am looking forward to an exciting and memorable year! If you have any questions or concerns about Language Arts class, you can contact me at aomey@adrian.k12.mi.us
